# Quickstart

> From registration to a sandbox estimate

Register through REST or CLI, never an extra MCP tool. Keep keys server-side.

Save the returned `api_key` securely; `qd_test_` keys simulate holds and never charge. Set `QUOTEDEV_API_KEY` in your own environment without logging it.
